I started volunteering at Abbey Arts because I’m interested in pursuing a career in art therapy. I believe that we need art to survive because art is communication. We use communication to express ourselves and without it, we cannot function as humans.

Abbey Arts is a place where all arts are welcome and affordable to the public. It’s not only a great source of inspiration but it also provides many things such as the NEXT STAGE program I’m applying to which would give me a great opportunity to start my career as a live painter and affirm myself as an artist.

For the couple of times I volunteered for Abbey Arts, I felt not only extremely welcomed by the overall atmosphere but also surprised at the diversity of events. I hope to volunteer much more and be a part of this growing art community.
